Dubai is situated on the Persian Gulf coast of the United Arab Emirates. Apart from being a city, it also forms one of the seven emirates of the country. It is roughly at sea level (16 m or 52 ft above). The emirate of Dubai shares borders with Abu Dhabi in the south, Sharjahin the northeast, and the Sultanate of Oman in the southeast. Hatta, a minor exclave of the emirate, is surrounded on three sides by Oman and by the emirates of Ajman (in the west) and Ras Al Khaimah (in the north). The Persian Gulf borders the western coast of the emirate.
Dubai lies directly within the Arabian Desert. However, the topography of Dubai is significantly different from that of the southern portion of the UAE in that much of Dubai’s landscape is highlighted by sandy desert patterns, while gravel deserts dominate much of the southern region of the country.
Dubai Creek runs northeast-southwest through the city. The eastern section of the city forms the locality of Deira and is flanked by the emirate of Sharjah in the east and the town of Al Aweer in the south. The Dubai International Airport is located south of Deira, while the Palm Deira is located north of Deira in the Persian Gulf. Much of Dubai’s real-estate boom is concentrated to the west of the Dubai Creek, on the Jumeirah coastal belt. Port Rashid, Jebel Ali, Burj Al Arab, the Palm Jumeirah and theme-based free-zone clusters such as Business Bay are all located in this section.
Two words to describe Dubai’s landscape: futuristic and beautiful.

like other canopy walkways, there are safety measures which must be adhered to. It is not recommended for persons below the age of 14 years. Even for adults, it is very challenging and for those afraid of heights, they should not venture into it while, nursing mother should not back their child to climb.

In 2014, i registered for a 3 months advance photography training in a studio where i was taught how to use studio lights in advance forms. During one of the days after the training when i got home, i wanted to practice what i learnt but i didn’t have those expensive studio lights. I just had one camera and a speedlite but i understood what i was taught about using lights. I called my neighbor’s son and using him as a model, i practiced and had a portrait photo shoot with him. I sincerely did not see anything unique about the pictures i shot and just copied them into my hard-drive.
The next year Nikon came to Nigeria and had a photography summit and photography competition themed “I am Alive”. They asked for images that showed “i am alive”. Going through my hard drive, i saw that portrait shot the previous year and though it looked like what they were asking for. I sent in the portrait and won the first prize of $1,000 dollars voucher (out of over 1,000 photographers that also participated).
I was invited to Dubai in January, 2018 by the Nikon Middle East and Africa office to attend a 5 days training for Nikon School Instructors. During one of the days, i was asked to shoot a corporate event (The Scent Perfume exhibition) and i shot all the images without a flash-light (I actually did not travel with one but was able to still produce amazing, world-class images.
With more than 15 years in the photography industry, I have an unusual understanding of the craft primarily because I started learning photography in the days of analogue/film photography. I have the unique ability to make tough photography-subjects very easy to understand especially for beginners and intermediate-level photographers in a fun-learning and practical environment. Being the foremost Nikon School Instructor in Lagos, Nigeria, I have had the privilege of facilitating group, one-on-one and corporate photography trainings.
